My name is Ava Wuthrich, and I can’t wait to teach at Ascent Academy! I am from Southern California and moved to Utah in 2020 to attend BYU. I graduated with my degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). In my free time I love to read, and talk to others about what they’re reading! I decided I wanted to be a teacher in first grade when I was the first student to finish my 1-1,000 project, and I got to go around and help other students with their projects. I am elated to share that this will be my second year teaching. 

 My biggest goal in the classroom is to create a space that feels safe for every student so that they can make mistakes and feel good about it. Because as James Joyce says, “Mistakes are the portals of discovery". I can’t wait for this year to begin so that I can meet all my students! Let’s do this!!
